According to an article in the Dever Post, the US Mint announced that they were resuming limited sales of fractional Gold Eagle bullion coins starting Monday Dec. 14th.  The investing public will have to wait however, until these coins makes their way through authorized purchasers to coin dealers.  Instead of the past 3 years, when the US Mint offered collector versions (”Burnished” finish) of the fractional coins directly to the public, the program was canceled this year due to shortages of the coin blanks.  A brief look at the eBay market for 1/10oz coins show that they are trading at a nice premium to spot prices.  Sales were tracking around $150 for the 1/10oz coins at time of writing.  Whether or not this increases due to demand or the perceived shortage, only time will tell.
