2008 W Bald Eagle NGC PF 70 Ultra Cameo Gold Commemorative $5 1/4 Ounce

This Commemorative $5 2008 West Point Proof was very special .. as a most endangered Eagle . Yes,the US Eagle was endangered .. this was 35 years to show that we had saved our US Bald Eagle .. Really a wonderful show of 'we can save/restore animals/birds that are almost extinct' .. tis a beautiful bird .... Something to see ..

The obverse shows two bald eagles.. The reverse is the entire symbol used so often .. It was, I believe, the only year (2008) had this commerative coin .. this IS highest grade it can have PF70 ULTRA CAMEO.  2008 was the last year the US Mint made fractional coins . that makes it special too.

Maximum Authorized Mintage: 100,000 (so final mintage was almost half of what was expected . rare? .. I don't know . but certainly a lovely gold coin) ..
